I am currently the Coordinator for the Illinois Digital Environment for Access to Learning and Scholarship (IDEALS), a set of services and collections supporting scholarly communication (including the institutional repository) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am also the co-Coordinator for the Scholarly Commons, a space for expert, interdisciplinary research support services and open workshops for faculty and graduate students to develop skills in areas such as digital content creation, management of research data, understanding copyright issues and author rights, and working with geospatial and numeric data.
In my position(s), I am responsible for working with faculty, students, and researchers on a range of scholarly communication issues including author rights, open access, theses and dissertations, data management, and data curation.
I am currently active in the next phase of development of the DMPTool. I served as the co-Program Chair for Open Repositories 2013 held in Charlottestown on Prince Edward Island July 8-13. I have been active in the ACRL Scholarly Communications 101 Road Show series as a presenter. I am a member of the Open Repositories Steering Committee, the DSpace Community Advisory Team, and am currently a member of the steering committee for the DMP Tool.
My ORCID is 0000-0003-3497-8042 and my public page is: http://orcid.org/0000-0003-3497-8042.
I regularly speak and publish on scholarly communication issues, data management services in libraries, and institutional repositories. My past research was on the social and technical barriers to metadata interoperability.
