I graduated from the University of London with a PhD in Land Evaluation, and have worked in the Universities of Wales, Kingston, London South Bank, and Anglia Ruskin. Also, at Waikato University (New Zealand).

I am a Chartered Surveyor; and have served as a foundation member of the Academy for Sustainable Communities' Learning Steering Group; a foundation member of the Steering Group of the London Regional Centre for Expertise in Education for Sustainable Development; a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have served as the Joint UK Editor of Local Economy for two terms on two occasions (including at present). I am also a Visiting Professor at the Royal Agricultural University and a Member of the Advisory Board (RELM), in addition to holding an honorary position at the University of Roehampton's Business School.
