Mahrya is the Scholarly Communications Librarian at University of Iowa where she works on open access and OER projects. Before her current role, Mahrya worked as an Instructional Services Librarian at Western Illinois University, and before that, City University of Seattle. She obtained her MLIS from University of Washington and has also studied history and English. Mahrya is interested helping faculty and students understand and embrace open education and scholarship.
