Jeffrey Beall is the Scholarly Communications Librarian at the University of Colorado Denver. His research and writing have appeared in numerous scholarly journals, including Nature and Science. His work identifying predatory publishers and predatory standalone journals has helped thousands of authors avoid submitting their work to questionable journals. Beall is the author of the website Scholarly Open Access. He holds a master's degree in English from Oklahoma State University and a master's degree in library science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
