I am the CEO of MDPI. Before that I was an academic researcher in developmental genetics for more than twelve years. I graduated with a Ph.D. in Life and Health Sciences in 2004 from the University of Lille. From 2005 to 2009 I completed two post-docs in Basel: the first one at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research, the second at the University of Basel. From 2009 to 2013 I led my own research group with a 650 kCHF research grant awarded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. During my research career I published 30 papers, which have been cited more than 3000 times. I shifted career for personal reasons and decided to join MDPI in January 2014. I was managing editor of "Non-Coding RNA" until January 2015, Chief Scientific Editor until April 2016, and was appointed CEO in May 2016. My aim as CEO is to improve MDPI’s outreach, to better anchor our journals into the relevant scientific communities, to expand our portfolio and number of journals, and expand services to scholarly communities such as the conference service launched in November 2015, or the Preprints service launched in May 2016.
