David works as an independent consultant, specialising in scholarly communication and Open Science/Open Access (see the recent UKeiG White Paper: http://www.cilip.org.uk/sites/default/files/documents/open_access_white_paper_final.pdf). David has for the past 2 years worked as Project Officer for SPARC Europe on two European Open Science projects. PASTEUR4OA (Open Access Policy Alignment Strategies for European Union Research - http://www.pasteur4oa.eu/) aims to support the European Commission’s Recommendation to Member States of July 2012 that they develop and implement policies to ensure Open Access to all outputs from publicly-funded research. FOSTER (Facilitate Open Science Training for European Research - https://www.fosteropenscience.eu/project/) aims to produce a Europe-wide training programme that will help researchers, postgraduate students, librarians and other stakeholders to incorporate Open Access approaches into their existing research methodologies.
