    • Jointly developed by Science Europe, cOAlition S, OPERAS, and the French National Research Agency (ANR).
    • Aims to align and develop common resources for the Diamond Open Access ecosystem
    • Launch Date: February 3, 2022
  • AEGIS-OA (Activate European Guidance and Incentives for Sustainable Open Access publishing)
  • ALMASI (Aligning and Mutualizing Nonprofit Open Access Publishing Services Internationally)
    • Funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe program.
    • Coordinated by European-led initiatives in collaboration with international partners.

    • Developed as part of the DIAMAS project in collaboration with CRAFT-OA and DOAJ.
    • Hosted within the European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH).
    • Launch Date: October 2025.
  • Diamond ERA.
    • A strategic briefing published by OPERAS, the European Research Infrastructure.
    • Aims to outline the transition from theoretical support for Diamond Open Access to its practical implementation.
    • Launch Date: January 22, 2026
  • Diamond Funding Navigator.
    • Developed and maintained by the TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and University Library in Germany.
    • Launch Date: Late 2024
  • Diamond Year for DOAJ (2025 Review)
    • An annual strategic summary published by the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ.)
    • Documents the significant milestones achieved in the Diamond Open Access sector throughout 2025.
    • Launch Date: December 19, 2025
  • The Diamond OA Standard (DOAS)
    • Developed by the DIAMAS consortium as a part of the of the Horizon Europe project.
    • Aims to To establish a comprehensive Extensible Quality Standard for Institutional Publishing (EQSIP).
    • Launch Date: September 20, 2024 (Version 1.0)

  • Edinburgh Diamond
    • "We are the University of Edinburgh's Library Publishing Partner for Diamond Open Access books and journals led and owned by our academics, professional staff and students."
  • ELADOAH Project
    • Research and development initiative focused on the German-speaking scholarly landscape.
    • Aims to develop a "Blueprint for Collaborative and Fair Diamond Open Access" (Blaupause für gemeinschaftliches und faires Diamond Open Access).
  • European Diamond Capacity Hub. (EDCH)
    • Fiscally hosted by OPERAS and supported by a 3-year grant from the European Commission.
    • To serve as the central coordination and support center for Diamond Open Access in the European Research Area (ERA).
    • Launch Date: September 2025

  • Free Journals Network. (FJN)
    • Aims to promote and support journals that are free to both authors and readers (Diamond Open Access)
    • Launch Date: early 2018.

  • Global Diamond Open Access Alliance.
    • International partnership coordinated by UNESCO.
    • In collaboration with Redalyc, AmeliCA, CLACSO, cOAlition S, Science Europe, and the French National Research Agency (ANR).
    • Launch Date: July 10, 2024.
  • (Second) Global Summit on Diamond Open Access.
    • Held in Cape Town, South Africa, December 8014, 2024.
    • Organized by Redalyc, UNESCO, DKIS, AmeliCA, CLACSO, cOAlition S, SPARC, Science Europe, the French National Research Agency (ANR), the University of Malaysia, and the Association of African Universities.

  • KOALA (Konsortiale Open-Access-Lösungen aufbauen, Establishing Consortial Open Access Solutions)
    • Led by the TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and the University of Konstanz.
    • Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
    • "The KOALA funding model provides fair and sustainable funding for quality-assured APC-free open access publications ('Diamond Open Access')."
    • Launch Date: January 2021

  • Lyrasis OACIP (Open Access Community Investment Program)
    • Aims to provide a community-driven framework for funding Diamond Open Access journals that do not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs.)
    • Launch Date: 2020.

  • Mapping U.S. Diamond Open Access Journals.
    • Produced by Lyrasis in collaboration with researchers from the University of Kansas and Indiana University Indianapolis.
    • Provides the first comprehensive, data-driven analysis of the Diamond Open Access landscape in the United States.
    • Release Date: March 2025

  • Open Journals Collective (OJC)
    • "We work with university-based publishers to make your favourite academic journals free to read and free to publish in."
    • Launch Date: 2024.

P

  • Platinum Open Access Funding (PLATO)
    • A collaborative project led by the University of Zurich in partnership with five other Swiss universities (ETH Zurich, University of Basel, University of Bern, University of Geneva, and University of Neuchâtel)
    • Aims to develop a sustainable funding and organizational model for "Platinum" (Diamond) Open Access in Switzerland.
    • Launch Date: 2022.

  • Service Point Diamond Open Access. (SeDOA)
    • The central national service point for Diamond Open Access in Germany.
    • Operated by the TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology, University of Konstanz, and University of Bonn.
    • Launch Date: 2025.
  • Spotlight on Diamond OA (University of Groningen)
    • Curated by the University of Groningen (UG) Library.
    • Launch Date: 2024
  • Statement of Intent on Open Research Europe.
    • Co-founded by 10 major regional and international research funding organizations, including UNESCO, cOAlition S, Science Europe, Redalyc/AmeliCA, CLACSO, and ANR, to support Open Research Europe as a platform for diamond OA.
    • Launch Date: July 2024 (Formalized during the pre-summit proceedings)

T

  • Toluca - Cape Town Declaration.
    • Emerges from the 2nd Global Summit on Diamond Open Access, held in Cape Town, South Africa, December 8-14, 2024.
    • Builds upon the foundations laid during the 1st summit in Toluca, Mexico.
    • Release Date: December 2024.
