Amanda "Mandy" Swygart-Hobaugh is an Assistant Professor and the Librarian for Sociology, Anthropology, and Gerontology at the Georgia State University Library. She hails from the Hoosier state (Indiana), where she earned her B.S. in Human Development/Family Studies and her Masters of Library Science (M.L.S.) from Indiana University, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Purdue University. Her professional background has been quite varied, including working as an academic librarian in a small, liberal-arts college and university settings, as a public librarian, and here and there as an adjunct professor in women's studies, sociology, and library science.
