Florence Piron is professor at Université Laval (Québec, Canada) and president of the Association for Science and the Common Good. She teaches ethics and participatory democracy and does research in social and political epistemology, open science in the Global South, science ethics, science and democracy. She is the leader of the SOHA project about open science in Haiti and Francophone Africa. To her, open science without empowerment of researchers from the Global South can only pursue the colonisation of knowledge in the Global South and double cognitive injustice.She has also created an open access publishing house, les Éditions science et bien commun.
