A computational linguist by training, I studied in Leipzig, Edinburgh and Saarbrücken. I worked in Milton Keynes, England, before moving to Bielefeld, Germany, where after some research in corpus and psycholinguistics, I decided to work for Bielefeld University Library.

I am a proud member of the team that runs the Bielefeld Academic Search Engine, BASE.

In another context, I run the Open Access Q&A site that used to be a StackExchange beta site.
