I am a student at SImmons currently taking Robin Peek's Open Access class. I currently work in a Public Library as the Youth Services Librarian. As a Public Librarian I am concerned with free access of information to the public. I think it is a shame that people not enrolled in higher education classes at Universities or Colleges do not have access to the same resources that students do. I am also aware that budget cuts and the current recession make it difficult for public libraries to receive enough funding to purchase resources for their patrons. I am taking the Open Access class for those reasons. The class requires students to register for this site in order to edit the New to Open Access? page.
