From the U.S., I’m a 2007 graduate of what is now the University of Sheffield iSchool, after spending several years resisting the siren call of Libraries & Information as a sandwich maker, antique stove restorer, mobile phone shop assistant, expatriate English teacher and in other pursuits. Studies in History (as an undergraduate at Drexel University and later at the Institute of Historical Research, Senate House, University of London) were a slightly more academic part of this circuitous path, that included emigrating from the U.S. to the U.K. in 2012. I started working in higher education at the University of Leeds in 2013, supporting business school accreditations, and worked as an open access Repositories Assistant in the Leeds University Library’s Research Support Team from 2016 to 2019. In 2019, I moved to another library open access and repositories role in the Online Research Collections team at Goldsmiths, University of London.
