2008

Open Access Day, 2008, October 14, 2008
This list was co-sponsored by PLoS, SPARC, and Students for Free Culture --the founding partners of Open Access Day. The list began as a database at SPARC and moved to the OAD on October 4, 2008, for community editing.

Because the worldwide response was so large, in 2009 the sponsors decided to coordinate an Open Access Week instead.
