Dr. Steven Minton is an american computer scientist and entrepreneur. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from CMU in 1988. After graduating, he was a Principal Investigator at NASA's Ames Research Center, also taught courses in Machine Learning at Stanford. He then became a Research Associate Professor at the University of Southern California’s Information Sciences Institute.

Minton co-founded Fetch Technologies in 2000, InferLink Corporation in 2011, and Innotrieve, Inc in 2013. He also founded the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research in 1993, one of the early open access journals, and founded the non-profit AI Access Foundation to publish the journal. JAIR is one of the top-ranked journals in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

Minton is a fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence. He is the author of numerous research articles on AI, and served as the PI on projects funded by DARPA, NSF, the Air Force, and other agencies.
